This year the Florida State Championship, AKA Sectionals, was held
at a brand new sports complex in Stuart, Florida, Halpatiokee Park.
The venue was top notch, and the fields were plush. The weather was
ideal with scattered cloud coverage throughout the day, a high
temperature of 88 degrees, and a slight breeze.

Four teams competed in a one day tournament for the title of Florida
State Champs and for seeding to Regionals. In the first round, the
number one seed, Tampa Bay Huckaneers defeated the number four seed,
Orlando's Sauce (15-0). Number two seed, Miami Rip Tide eked out a
victory over number three seed, Gainesville's Diva (10-9). This was
truly the most exciting game of the day. Both teams displayed amazing
athleticism and skill. The second round pitted the Huckaneers against
Diva with the Huckaneers prevailing (13-7). Rip Tide was victorious
over Sauce (11-5). In the third round Diva defeated Sauce while Rip Tide
and the Huckaneers were vying for first place. Rip Tide remained solid
and strong throughout the game, but they were unable to conquer the
Huckaneers. The final score was 14-9.

The top three teams, Huckaneers, Rip Tide, and Diva will be traveling
to Atlanta to compete in Regionals. Sauce has opted not to attend.
