The Sour Age

Predictions for Week One

All right boys and girls- it's time for us all to get to work. My job
is to tell you who's going to win on Friday, and why. Your job is to
make that happen. Now trust me, I know what I'm talking about. Some
say I can make accurate predictions and not even be within miles of
the field. That of course is just crazy talk- seriously, why would
you think that?! Why?! But I digress. Now, as long as everybody does
what they're supposed to do and you use unmarked, non-sequential
bills, nobody will get hurt-oops, sorry. That last line was meant for
my other job. Let's just get to the stupid predictions:

Team 1 - Red v. Team 6 - White

I'm looking forward to this game, since it's going to be a clash of
philosophies: O v. D. The Reds (Douma) know how to win. He drafted
the hucker-in-chief of league, so I don't think that Red is going to
concentrate on controlling the disc. As for the White (Greathouse),
they did nothing other than zone during the pre-season. Can the zone
beat the huck? I think it can. Easily. White by 6.

Team 2 - Gold v. Team 5 - Black

Gold (Keating) will be looking to derail Black (Durham), which is
interesting since both teams won rather easily last week. Gold, I
say, is at risk of being one-dimensional with no proven huckers.
Black though, is error prone. Can they rein in their wild men and
perfect the Bumble-bee attack? In a terrible movie, Wesley Snipes
said: "Always bet on Black." Excellent advice# except, he's in
prison. Gold plays it safe and wins by 2.

Team 3 - Purple v. Team 4 - Green

I believe very strongly that Green (Vozza) has put together the best
squad. But rumor has it from the guy who works in the cubicle right
next to the Czar that Purple (Foerster) got some help- the only thing
he'd say is that it's an excellent "husband/wife" combo. Are they
being helped by Gainesville's elite? It makes me wonder. Who could
it be? Oh, and get this: Phil and Andrew (of Green) are going to be
in Boulder playing for a National title. Go gators, but no love for
you. Look for Purple to take care of business while the cat's away.
Purple by 4.

There you have it. I'll see you next week so that I can gloat. Enjoy
the rest of your week.
